Movie barcode
Alien
Most of Alien is grey and dark blue. Its brightest stretch is at 1:23:59, and its darkest at 0:33:01. It opens in near-black and ends in blue-grey.
A movie barcode is a whole film in one picture: its frames averaged into colors and laid side by side, the first on the left and the last on the right.
Scrub through it
In Fade to Color, hold the barcode to scrub through Alien scene by scene, draw it as a spiral, tree rings or a bookshelf, or make it your wallpaper. And name films from their colors alone, five a day.
